Kingston,Mi | Teflon tape is a lubricant that allows the joint to be tightened to liquid tight, if it can be tightened to that poin, you need a sealer. Rector seal and others like it are a sealer and likely a lubricant (if they contain teflon). One turn of teflon tape should provide enough lubricant to tighten the joint, more is not better. Information is from my brother who has been an air conditioning tech. since 1972, in the Air Force then as a heating and cooling system operator in several hospitals where he supplies air conditioning, clean filtered air and various other products to the hospital and it's operating rooms. | |
