I have set up many Wilger fertilizer systems on planters, and we also use the SS orifice at the diaphragm valve. I have considered using the orifices in the Wilger itself, but I don't think you would want to use the diaphragm valve after the orifice, as they usually take 10 or 15 psi to open the diaphragm. Typically you don't have any or very little pressure after the orifice, as there isn't anything to restrict the flow & create pressure.

Also, it is absolute BS about needing the same length hose from the Wilger to the end of the hose. We have hoses that range from 30' to 10' in length. The output flow is exactly the same between each row.

You don't want to put much faith in the flow indicators on the Wilger, as the balls only indicate a difference in the flow between each line.
