Subject: RE: Row Starter Flow Problem - Wilgers JD 1770 w/Piston Pump

Central Illinois
Test the flow coming out with a measuring cup... do not use the wilgers as an indication of flow rate... wilgers are designed to show row blockage... In other words, the balls will be at different levels. I had this same concern until i checked my outflow at the application point and found out i was only .5 oz (60 sec test at 5mph) difference between rows.. this information about the wilgers was from the fertilizer dudes who sold me them..

ps we are using SS orifices to regulate flow... we also have different lenghts of hosing and show no signs of variation.
