Subject: Re: Do Equipment Dealers Know, If I Buy From A Different Dealer?

Paxton, IL
In general I try to be loyal to a dealer of each specific color equipment. If I'm looking to buy something, I'll check with my local dealer first. If i've found a piece of equipment elsewhere that looks good to me, I'll contact my local dealer and see if they've got something to compete for that sale. I usually try to let them know I'd much rather give them my business than take it somewhere else.

Obviously there are many times that it just doesn't work out locally and I buy from the other dealer. My local dealer usually doesn't feel too bad about it because they know I gave them a shot and they just didn't have anything to match what I needed. They also know that they'll get the parts and service calls on whatever I bought.

Now this is all assuming you have a good local dealer that values you as a customer and provides good service when you need it. If your dealer isn't doing that then you need to find a dealer that does, and make that your primary dealer to do business with.

just my opinion on the matter
