WCIN | I have a new 2011 carryover 1250, that today was the first time it has been in the field. The planter has the pto pump that is secured to the drawbar. I noticed Saturday when I was doing a seed count, that the vac was surging. Called the dealer today, and they sent one of their planter specailst down to look at it. What he found was that if you run around 800 rpm on the pto, it runs fine, but at over that it starts surging. So far their only solution is to run at the lower rpm. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about this.

BTW it's taken 2 and 1/2 days to fianlly get the thing out of the barnlot and to the field. So I went ahead and planted this evening and got along fine, but IMO it is not right that you can not run a 1000 RPM pump at a 1000 RPM.
