Subject: Allis 7080 tranny oil tube problems

Ludington/Manistee MI area

Been having problems with the tranny oil fill tube on my 7080 allis wanting to pop out of the tranny so I decided to replace the tube this spring. After getting it replaced noticed that the dipstick fitted loose now so I got the micrometer out and the new one ID is 1.250 and the old is 1.240 called the dealer and they ordered one in for stock and that measures 1.250 also.  By the way dipsticks are discontinued.  Any thoughts.  Is their such a thing as an o-ring with the same ID but a fatter OD?  The o-rings are what holds the dipstick in place.  Do I pound the new tube out and put the old one back with some sort adhesive in to keep it in place? If so what kind of adhesive?
