Eastern ON | Their not uncommon in Ontario/Quebec, we run an old one on heifer barn. You keep a section of chain clean and oiled, and always have it on the outside in cold weather. Worst weather you may have to walk up and knock on the chain a bit to make sure its not froze.
Chains always jump off on coldest mornings, on weekends. Safety harness is your friend then.
