| We went with Design homes. They are an OK home . We hauled lumber to about every modular builder in the midwest. One of my guys that trucked with me also went with the design homes. When the driver delivered mine he went through the road ditch at about 25mph. Not a smooth ditch either. House went up in the air about 10 ft and stayed together. They are a little crude about the way things are done and some of the interior is a little cheap but seems to be a solid enough house 7 years later.
I would have preferred to wait few years and build a slab house myself in the off season but wife wanted it NOW. At that time it was a year between when she wrote the check for the house and it was ready to move in. Be sure no matter how you go about it you pick out good doors and windows. Design homes will let you put in the ones you want even if you don't want the ones they are selling. Same with cabinet etc. | |
