New Mexico
SW are no grazing this year.
Kicking em off daily.
Used to be and technically ( by the grazing contracts ) supposed to be 30 days notice.
Not this year.

Looks to me like 250,000 breds and pairs have started moving.

Been costing $950 to $1,250 per for good young calfing nows thru Spring.
Pairs in the $1,100 to $1,400 per pair range ( depends on calf size, total pair wt, cow age etc ).

The grazers edge this year ( IF feed ) is these fancy young exposed cows shrunk down to 750 to 875 lbs costing $85 cwt to $100 cwt. 1/3 to half of will calf mid to late summer and that light end will almost double their wt by August.
( that's a Flat trade processing grass, likely come back with fat young cows to a packer say Mid July )

Short yearling steers and long calves plenty thin enough weighing 440 avg ( 375 to 575 lbs ) costing $185 cwt.
Hiefers off em $20 back.

Feeder deal looks like it's coming back in line so to speak now.
