If you're trying to get GPS directly from the netbook to the 700, you'll have to make sure that the data the netbook is sending for the 500 is the same as the data that the Pro 700 needs (NMEA 38k4, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, at 1, 5, or 10hz). If the 500 and the 700 need different data strings, then you may be out of luck approaching it that way.
If you're sending GPS from the netbook into the 500, and then trying to get it back out of the 500 to send to the 700, you'll need to make sure you have the output settings correct in the 500.
The 500 outputs data on pin 3 of that 9-pin connector, so you need to get a wire from pin 3 on the 500 to pin 2 on the Pro 700 9-pin. This will usually require a null modem cable, which is what Trimble told you or your dealer. | |
