To expand a little on her sewing interests and skills..........might also look into making doll clothes, especially if there is a gift or specialty store near you where she might consign them.  Also, perhaps custom curtains and draperies might be an option.  In our area there is a real shortage of anyone who is good at doing alterations on ready-made clothes.  Many of us who are 'vertically challenged' need clothes modified, and finding a good alterations lady is nearly impossible here.  May be something to look into.  Good luck!!
