How long or how many towers is this system?
There was a warranty rework issued on the longer systems where your Valley dealer would come out and replace the ball hitch assembly. There is a kit you use to cut off the existing ball hitch and bolt on a new one.
No worries on the ball having a retaining device. It won't come out on the toughest terrain plus it doesn't tear up any of the joint if a storm blows it over.
