These folks build about the best quality home for the price that I've seen. I don't know if you would call it modular or whatever. They have a Nebraska office.

The problem with a remodel or new custom home is that you never really know what it is going to cost until you are done. And all you do know for sure is that it is going to cost a lot more than the original estimate.

With Design homes I think you can nail down the exact cost ahead of time. They can probably arrange for the basement construction also. I wouldnt be afraid to get a mortgage and do it right. Now is the time to build a house.

I would give them a call. If you know what the cost is going to be there is all sorts of good financing to build a home these days. I would build a house you won't mind living in for the next 20 or 30 years. We've remodeled more than our share and don't want to do that again.
