SW Saskatchewan | High Canadain feed prices and high $ mean we will be well discounted from US prices- maybe worse next year if those cattle are fed in Canada and then the beef faces the US market for the whole value.
Yearlings and heavier calves are doing the best as it is now costing as much or more to put on a lb of gain in feedlot as kill cattle are worth.
Expansion is a no go so a lot more heifrs will be on the block this fall as grain prices cause a cattle-grain rebalancing.
Hope to move ours sooner- want them out before that first winter storm shrinks them up. | |
