The pump standby pressure is not really the problem but "pressure spikes" created in the system when high oil flows come to an adrupt stop when a valve closes or a cylinder reaches the end of its stroke. I assume you have a independent valve for the loader and there is normally not a problem with that valve with higher system pressures because it's not detented. The selective control valves internally will detent and when they return to neutral create the spike. The higher the system pressure is bumped up over spec.,the higher the spike. After thousands of hours of use the cast iron housing gets tired and breaks. The tractors of that age used with scrapers equiped with electric valves have accumulators added to cushion the oil for that reason. Hope this helps.
