did you use the tool to time it? if I remeber correctly that requiresa tool to time it. there are numbers on the pump drive for the number of cylinders the engine has. the mark by the correct number has to be inline with the crank. if you draw a line between the center of the crank and center of pump shaft the mark should line up with this line.
