A fast valve is just that, fast. So some people don't like the time it takes a standard valve to get to rate. A fast valve is much quicker reacting. Tyler Patriots came out with standard valves in the boom feed line. Later Case units used fast valves in a bypass configuration for rate control untill they switched over to a pwm hydraulic pump speed control on the last versions.
