Good Ol' East Texas | First we can cover more ground with these mowers than a self propelled. The flails dry it out good but usually we run the recon the next day to help fluff the windrow back up and re-crimp crop. We don't always run the recon just all depends on how fast we need it up. Second we use this mower to cut a lot of our grass hay and the roller conditioners does not help much were the flails help drying the best. Which I think when we run both through the crop it helps a lot. The flails strip the wax off and the rollers break the steam.
The field of where the picture of the recon we ran it about 3 hours after the mower. The mower started at 2pm and the recon about 5pm and the outside rounds were about ready to chop before the dew fell around 8. This was a 8 ton crop of ryegrass and oats. | |
