west central Iowa | If you google Iowa farm lease law and go to the hit from the attorney general it says the sept 1 rule only applies if it is over 40 acres of cultivated land. It says it usually does not apply to pasture land. So my farmers national guy was wrong. On the one written pasture lease I had we used a fill in the blank lease and it specified the standard dates. I know one guy that got notice literally when he had the trailer backed up ready to turn out, so it would pay to have a written lease. | |
