Subject: The key is the guess rows.



Good guess rows takes all the problem away. I planted 4 picked 6 for years. with the 4 row narrow planter the marker was too long to make a mark for the center of the tractor, so make a mark for the far wheel which for my open tractor was far easier to drive precisely with the center rib of the tire in the mark for high precision. Most of the time the combine operator could not find my guess rows except for the one pass where I'd started at opposite sides of the field and met in the middle. Then he took partial passes.
