I am wondering how everyone cleans their freestall barns? We currently have a tie-stall and were just discussing this the other day and I thought I'd ask on here to see what others do. It seems most barns around here are cleaned with scrapers, just wondering about other places. A few other questions:
Why did you choose what system you use?
How often do you clean?
What type of bedding do you use?
Did the length of your alleyways have an impact on which method you chose?
The last thing we were wondering, are the cows feet better with a skidsteer clean out because they don't see the pool of manure in front of the scrapers or better in the scrapers because the barn is cleaned more frequently?
