| I was thinking of using steel. One guy that works for me has been building most of our gates and is pretty good at it. Building the gate isn't as hard as building the track and putting a motor on it, eventually. I want to try to get it built in the next few weeks before planting gets rolling then we won't have time to do much with it, for a while. We used to have one that we pulled with a rope but that has been gone for years, now we are using two gates to divide the holding pen in half and its taking too long to get cows in and I only want one guy in the parlor. If I have to we can just get the track built and the gate made and we can use a rope to pull it back and forth for now until we figure out how to put a motor on it. What are your guys thoughts on electrifying it or not, and I was thinking about putting a bell on it, so when its moving the bell/buzzer rings and the cows know the gate is coming? | |
