Subject: Pinewood Derby Car tips...

Dodge County, WI
2 conversation starters.
1.) What have you done to your kids cars in the pursuit of the win? I polish axles and wheels along with my secret axle lube.

2.) More specifically, I was talking with my brother in law today, and there is a difference of opinion. I say you want most of the added weight in the back of the car, he says more toward the front of the car, especially on aluminum tracks.(which I have never seen) Who is right? I say you want the weight on the hill as long as you can making forward speed, he mentioned axle friction and wheel friction (the wheels against the track). I love talking about this kind of stuff because:
A. It's cheap fun.
B. Everyone knows the dads are doing all they can to their cars to beat the other dads. I mean kids.
