Subject: Re: John Deere 4940

Formerly NE North Dakota, now NW MN
Wild wild speculation on my part-

Last year we ran into the same problems with a Patriot 4420. We had a pro 600 in it. It wasn't really the pro-600 that was the problem, it was the software that Case put in the Nav controller. We diagnosed it by tricking the Nav controller into letting us load a software profile directly from Trimble. Worked like a charm then. Would have stuck with the Pro600 but there was no way to keep the Trimble profile in the Nav controller. Boring story is revelevent why you ask?

It's my thoughts that if the reciever were to blame, the track would be off. Too far left for the whole pass or too far right for the whole pass, but not SSSing.

SSSing... is probably the result of inadequate software in the nav controller. I think(though I could be wrong) updating the nav controller on a Deere machine would require a tech. with a labtop. Luckily Deere is usually pretty good at coming up quickly fixing software glitches.

Course......I've been wrong before.
