Subject: Re: Precision Planting Clean Sweeps in flat riverbottom Gumbo

Western KY
I have two 24 row planters with the seed star xp from Deere and the precision clean sweep on them, we are very happy with the performance. Some of the best money we have every spent on a planter because we plant silt loam soils to heavy clay bottoms notill and conventional. The ability to adjust on the fly and not exit the tractor is great. We use them in no till corn on corn as well and they do an excellent job. They shine on heavy soils where you want to move the trash and not dig a trench. Watch your down pressure on your row unit because it can change drastically when you go from carrying your entire floating row cleaner assembly to applying down pressure and being aggressive. The seed star xp or air force helps prevente lifting the row unit out the ground or allowing it to bounce due to not enough downforce.
