We used sheet metal and covered all the cleaning grates. The book says to use solid cleaning grates but this accomplishes the same thing only cheaper. Sunflowers are hard to clean. If you can cut in tougher higher humidity conditions it helps but sometimes that is not an option. With the combine set the same way we have had from 2% FM to 20%FM just due to weather conditions and the maturity of the crop!
