Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA | We've had three trucks like that, and still have one running. Paid $5,000 for a '89 back in '02 and it was worked hard about 5 years until the engine went and then it was parted out. $6,000 for a '90 at the same time in '02, abused just like the other one, and the thing is somehow still alive. It has likely been the best money maker of a truck we've ever had. I bought an '85 with a sleeper in '06 for $4,600, mostly for the tires, which were all about 90% at the time. It was wrecked a few years later, but eight out of the ten tires are still going strong on other trucks. IIRC insurance gave about $8,000 for that one before a $1,600 buy back, so maybe it was the best money maker of the three?
They aren't trucks that will impress the neighbors, but they can get the jobs done cheap.
