I run ours in the second spot on our kinze and deere planters for no till and most other conditions, unless it was a feild that was worked alot and is soft then i will go with the first slot. As long as it isnt getting to the seed and not taking dirt off the top i dont worry about it pushing hard with those schlagle wheels. Make sure the closing wheels are centered over the seed trench, that will make a big difference on those wheels if they are off to one side, i had a row of corn for about 50 acres to prove it last year
