we have mulitple machine shops that will cold weld around here. Lots of oilfield here, this is a nice benefit from the patch if you havent been lucky enough to get a well. We had a main shaft on the combine the bearing spun on the shaft and galled it up pretty bad. Same thing, it was a tempered shaft 1st shop didnt want to weld it up and machine it down because it would break right where it was welded. They recomemended another machine shop that could cold weld, had them do it took a 1/2 day and $100 to fix. AGCO wanted 1300 for a new shaft and (wait for it) they didn't have on in captivity. BIG SHOCKER. put it all back together bearing fit perfectly and it is still running. Found out it is pretty common around here on pump jacks for oil wells
