First tractor I bought when I took over the farm was an 806D, 2nd was a 4020D. For light tillage, planting, row crop cultivating & general work the 4020 was the better of the two. For heavy tillage such as plowing, chieseling, field cultivator I would give the nod to the 806. I put a lot more money in the 4020 than I ever did my 806 but to be fair I owned it a lot longer.

Owned a 400, then an 800 planter but would have preferred the 7000.

An AF combine was better than any cylinder combine IMO.

No experience with the Steigers & Versatiles of that era but just trade a Beuhler Versatile for a CIH Steiger 435 and there's no comparison IMO.

Grew up on IH "Letter" series tractors, learned to drive on a M but the SM was my favorite.
