 Eastern Iowa | Unloaders are cheap to operate, expensive to fix. Most guys stick with one in bad shape far longer than they should. When they replace or repair it, they realize they should have done it long before.
Bags aren't cheap either, and bunkers are best for guys feeding loads measured by the ton. Silos/unloaders still have their place.
I think silos are an ideal place for HMC. Keeps it well preserved and loads fairly fast. Superior to bags in this neighborhood, anyway, due to the deer problem my neighbors have. | |
