they are not that bad of a job. once you get it apart be careful when cleaning up the gasket surface and keep something over the lifter valley. if you let the debris of a scotch brite wheel in the oil you will have a rod knocking in no time. wipe all the surfaces with brake kleen and lay the new gaskets on. i liked to use the gray GM silicone on each of the block surfaces. the torque on those gaskets used to be only 15 ft lbs. but i have been gone from the dealership 8 years now so it could have changed. make sure to mark the position of the distributor cap and position of the rotor button. make sure it goes back exactly the same or it will set a ck engine light. you can use a big flat head screwdriver to adjust the oil pump so the distributor will fall in where you want. i would put a new coolant nipple in the intake while you can get to it easier, they are notorious for leaking and breaking off in the intake. good luck. you can shoot me an e-mail if you have any other questions
