On the planters I'd have to go with the 800 from the aspect that that row unit is still better than what everybody else is selling 35 years later.  Yes the 7000 had a better seed meter but Deere bought that meter from Eugene Keeton and IH was in the process of buying it when Deere bought it out from under them.  The finger pickup meter on the Early Riser row unit would have been an unbeatable combination until the vaccum meters started showing up.
