| Use a patz surface drive for both corn and haylage. Well lets just say i can fix it pretty quick because you get plenty of practice. Its not worn out junk but frozen build up on the walls and a poor chipper design that causes a majority of problems. It is a chain drive and it will dig hard pack good. Biggest pain in the ace is when it drops below zero it will freeze down and wont start, 7hp motor will slip belts. Also use a ring drive jamesway-valmetal with auger in haylge with knife kit, like it alot better. The patz also likes to eat a door every now and then for a snack.. There is'nt much tolerance between leaving frozen grass on the wall or hitting the hardware in the doors. That being said it works great when its not winter but i think any farmer with silo's in the northern parts allready knew that!!!! | |
