The conctete floor is 6" thick. If you watched the video when there pouring the concrete. They continue to pull on the rebar as they're pouring the concrete. I would guess the rebar would be around the 3" mark in the concrete. We use gravel because compacts good and you don't half to worry about it trying to settle like dirt would.
