Subject: Re: case ih 2500 ripper shanks

WE had a 2500 with no-toill shanks. Liked the job it did but the problem we saw is that the NT shanks do not have a replaceable front wear edge. In 2010 we put new shanks on it . Because of the dry fall we wore the new shanks out in 600 ac. Our soils are either black loams or timber soils, no sand or gravel. We ran a winged point , 7" IIRC, because we liked the extra lifting in our heavier soils. With the winged points you could see the ground lift all the way across from shank to shank & drop back down but didn't ridge it as much as the previos inline ripper we had that had MRD shanks.
