The lids have a rod and plate that is like a dipstick visible from the tractor.
Many people would paint one side of the drive shaft so the driver could observe it from the tractor.
Setting the depth would fun.
That planter had prodrives, LOL.
Later planters had chains, now they have went back to prodrives.
