Tip of the Thumb of Michigan

I was pushing the time friday morning as I had a meeting and it was supposed to rain later so I think i messed up my test a little.  I took off on my old tracks when it was only down to about 3" and I was off about 3", but I don't know if it was drift or lack of convergence.   We are right on the edge of the map from trimble so I don't know if that will affect drift.  I have no experience with any correction service, so this is all new to me.  My dealer doesn't either.  They are a really good dealer, but all there customers are on RTK.  They are supposted to bring a repeater up our way to check for signal at all our farms.  All the unlocks to go to RTK make it out of my budget for this year, so that's why I'm really looking over this RTX.  However, 10 years at $1650 is alot of money.   So in the long run if RTK will work I may want to go that way for the long term.   For  this year we have decided to try planting on WAAS and if that isn't working, just make the call for RTX.  We had good luck planting wheat last fall with ezsteer on WAAS.  I had to nudge once in a while, but once I was going i didn't need to use markers.  We will be planting 12 and thrashing 8, so we will see.
