CNH introduced the DEF in their new model large tractors quite a while back, and yes it does make them Tier 4 phase 1 compliant, they have been introducing it to the midrange, combines, sprayers and others as required. JD is a little behind by just going to this system. I think all the commercial diesel engines had to be Tier 4 compliant even before the ag side had to get there.
