| Jan 1, 2014 changes everything. Up until then, manufactures could use credits to put lesser regulated engines in machines (any tractor built with a Tier 3 engine right now is built on credit). On Jan 1, 2014, the tractor can't be built for sale in the N.A. market without a Tier 4 Final engine installed....even if the engine was built/purchased/whatever prior to Jan 1. Now building a tractor without an engine and letting the consumer do whatever they decide to do with it, that I don't know. I like that idea though.... I think I would go in to business building engine "kits" (harnesses, mounts, etc...) to retrofit into the new machines. | |
