Morris, IL | Any Allis Chalmers Collectors on AgTalk. Have an AC D17 Diesel tractor that we are thinking about selling, been used on rotary mower my whole life and finally somewhat retired it a few years ago. Has close to 9000 hours, i would guess it has been rebuilt at least once and really needs another.
Now for my question, what is it worth and how rare are the diesels? Everyone keeps telling me its rare and should be restored (none of us has the desire to restore it). As far as appearance it looks pretty good. No real sentimental value to anyone in the family. One guy that has worked on it collects AC and would probably buy it in a heartbeat, always said to give him first chance at it. Personally i'd really like to see him buy it, would probably restore it really nice.
As far as i can see 3 out of 31 on tractor house are Diesels.
