A friend of mine built his home with the insulated foam/ cement blocks on the exterior walls then built all the interior walls with 4 inch c perlins ( not the light weight metal studs ) and the rafters with 8 inch c purlins , everything welded . He said he wanted a storm shelter but did not want one in the ground.
