bushton kansas | I have lived in a Lustron home since 1949, all it has ever had done is new windows and a remodeled kitchen. I believe it is the only one with a basement. Dad wanted a basement they said it had to be on a slab, he said send the house i will have a slab. The kids call it the tomb, we don't worry about getting thru a tornado. It went thru a grapefruit size hailstorm in 1979, all we did was put glass in the windows, our Butler steel buildings needed roofs and one side. No roofing or paint in that time. The man that invented this home scared the heck out of the government and the lumber business, and they put him out of business by calling this government loans after a few years. Look up Lustron homes it is interesting. | |
