are you looking to eventually expand on your GPS equipment or eventually get a higher accuracy? if so get the EZ-steer or EZ-pilot (a little more money but a little more accurate) with the 500. you can upgrade to other stuff to like the EZ-boom and get higher accuracy with it. with the 250 you can only get WAAS (6-8 in accuracy) and you can't upgrade it. the 250 is cheaper but alot less advantages.
