Minnesota | The DCM-300 modem is available in both GSM (AT&T) and CDMA (Verizon) data formats, just need to make sure you order the correct one for the services available in your area. The Data Activation center is a good route for activating the ag modems, as when you call there, they actually know what you are talking about (I have had verizon representives laugh uncontrollably when I have explained what I was doing). I do not know why the pricing would be different, but the Activation Center is also very helpful if you would like to switch the data plan to a USB wireless card for your laptop during the offseason.
If you do wish to set up directly through Verizon, you will need the ESN Number which is printed on the DCM, and simply tell the verzion rep that you need to activate a data plan and you already have the 3rd party device configured for verizon and give them the ESN number. Should be all the information they need to activate the modem. | |
