Central Iowa | They simply have not figured it out. We always lose the bearings before the disks are worn out. We bought a new 1200 in 2009 and it had the heavy duty double bearings which we were told would solve the problem. The bearings came into contact with the guage wheels and ruined a bunch of disks. So we put the old single bearing disks back on. If you put their feet to the fire they simply have no good answer for the problem. We continue to run the planters and like them but the fact that they cannot find a disk that lasts is a joke. Total engineering failure. Maybe my expectations are too high but 200 acres/row on a set of blades is unacceptable IMO. | |
