I am a Chevy guy but have a custom harvester neighbor who is very unhappy with his Duramax. Overheating all the time he says. I've never owned or even been around any diesel pickups but I have heard the year to year variations on the Duramax were somewhat significant and there may be a few years to avoid. Custom harvester neighbor is going to a Ford 6.7 this year.

Like I said, I know very little about them other than knowing my neighbor really doesn't like his. Could have been a bad apple. Quite honestly, I'm not sure a light ever went off or anything on the cooling system for him. May have just been running hot because it's supposed to for emissions stuff for all I know. I haven't talked to him a lot about it. Just know he's not happy.
