![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=188&type=profile&rnd=402) Ripley, Ontario Canada | Think there is something off in the price per KWH to charge the volt, like by a factor of 10. We don't have cheap electricity in Ontario and I figure I am paying something about 15 cents per KWH depending on time of use. If I use 15 cents for 16 kw, I get $2.40 to charge and a cost of 9.6 cents per mile.
I reread the other posts, and never thought to question the gas price side. Here gas would be about $4.72 per US Gallon (3.78 L @1.25 per L)
At 32 mpg that works out to 14.76 cents per mile. Makes the 9.6 cents for electric only 65% of gas, that don't look too bad, and hydro doesn't jump every time the U.S. sends another carrier to the middle east.
