Panhandle of Ne. | IMHO, you can't go wrong with the dmax/allison combo. We have a 2500 hd with 225000 miles, has always carried a fuel tank, air compressor, 3 toolboxes etc. Not what you are carrying, but still weighs over 10k lbs. Have never touched the allison. Just put the second set of injectors in it last week, motor is still strong. Have NEVER had a pickup this tough. It sees mainly gravel roads, mud going to pivots, hasn't had an easy life. DISCLAIMER. We have tried all of them. Had 20+ strokes auto/manual, had 3 dodges w/auto. None of them have come close to this '06 dmax. Have 5 more dmaxes, won't drive anything else. | |
