Subject: RE: Anyone ever use a roto grind tub grinder?

Texas

I have a 1090 that I have run 1500 3x4 square bales of baleage through.  I purchased it with the alfalfa knives and use the "bunk" spout to blow it into a conveyor.  It will plug occasionally if the baleage is very wet or I push it too hard.  It is very easy to clear the plug and simple to adjust.  I don't think I could get the baleage to go through a screen grinder as well as the Roto Grind.

I have tried a limited amount of dry hay and it does work better with the dry hay.  I didn't have any plugging problems with the dry hay and it blows it much farther.  I don't think I could use the long spout on the baleage, only the short bunk spout.

I have to say I'm pleased with mine for what I use it for.
